Happy thumbnails, faster ad-hocs topics from Slack

Hi there!

This is our weekly update, and we’d greatly appreciate any feedback.

New features / significant changes:

  • Happy recording thumbnails. This year’s events weren’t very supportive of positive emotions, to say the least, and it could be easy to overlook moments of joy that occur all the time when your team gets together. To unveil all these moments we’ve replaced our random recording thumbnail selection algorithm with an ML-based implementation that tries to find the best couple of shots for each participant and puts them together. As a result, you should see a lot more happiness when you scan through Slack messages, and we hope that it will make you smile more 😊

Huge thanks to our user Toby S. who suggested this cool idea 👍 If anyone has any thoughts on how to take this idea further — please share with us.

Privacy disclaimer: We don’t use customer data to train or test this ML model. Video processing is happening locally in our secure cloud infrastructure without involving 3rd parties.

  • /meetter now no longer requires any additional parameters. If you are in a hurry, you can just type “/meetter now” in any Slack channel or DM without specifying topic or participants.

Small improvements & bug fixes:

  • [IMPROVEMENT] Ability to disable 1-minute calendar reminders for individual topic events. Uncheck Preferences -> Join Reminder -> G Suite or Office 365. You may want to do so if you rely on push notifications sent by Remeet app.
  • [IMPROVEMENT] Send a calendar invite to ad-hoc/now topic participants

Best,
Remeet Team
